NOT ALONE, NOT FORGOTTEN, NOT EVER.

He leads us on by path

The land you are . . . to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. (Deuteronomy 11:11–12)

Nicolaus Zinzendorf

He leads us on by paths we did not know;
Upward He leads us, though our steps be slow,
Though oft we faint and falter on the way,
Though storms and darkness oft obscure the day;
Yet when the clouds are gone,

We know He leads us on.
He leads us on through all the unquiet years;
Past all our dreamland hopes, and doubts and fears,
He guides our steps, through all the tangled maze
Of losses, sorrows, and o’er clouded days;

We know His will is done;
And still He leads us on.

Modern day Idolatry

Idolatry is worshiping other things besides the one true God. Consistently throughout the Bible it is made very clear that idolatry is unacceptable. In the times of the Bible, most people worshiped gods and goddesses made of stone, wood or sometimes precious metals. God condemns the worship of such objects. No matter what the idol is made of, it is still a lifeless object with no power or character. It definitely has no power to save us from our sins! Idolatry is not only foolish but is a major sin in the eyes of God. Idolatry worships the creature rather than the creator  How can intelligent people turn to idolatry? Idolatry begins when people reject what they know about God.  Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.  Romans 1:22-23 Instead of looking to God as the creator and sustainer of life, idol worshipers see themselves as the ...

NOT ALONE, NOT FORGOTTEN, NOT EVER.

Not alone, Not forgotten, Not ever.  More than 340 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith. That’s 1 in 8 worldwide, 1 in 6 in Africa, 2 out of 5 in Asia, and 1 in 12 in Latin America. We stand with them. A woman in India watches as her sister is dragged off by Hindu nationalists. She doesn’t know if her sister is alive or dead. A man in a North Korean prison camp is shaken awake after being beaten unconscious; the beatings begin again. A woman in Nigeria runs for her life. She has escaped from Boko Haram, who kidnapped her. She is pregnant, and when she returns home, her community will reject her and her baby. A group of children are laughing and talking as they come down to their church’s sanctuary after eating together. Instantly, many of them are killed by a bomb blast. It’s Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka. These people don’t live in the same region, or even on the same continent. But they share an imp...
